Dessa, who is a thirty year old collaborator in the Minnesota hip hop group Doomtree has been making some interesting waves in the genre lately with her fruity loops with a new CD called "Caster the Twin." One of the reasons she doesn't seem like a standard part of the hip hop world is that she's a female, she's from Minnesota and she's white. Although she was originally worried that she wouldn't be accepted in the musical community she's gotten past that fear and has become much more interested in putting her own spin on her songs and the genre.
